{FIVE} Blogtoberfest

Have you heard of Aussie Hero Quilts (and Laundry Bags)?  It is a initiative set up by Jan Maree of Cherry Red Quilter to provide quilts and laundry bags to our forces serving overseas.  It started out sending quilts in the care package mailings twice a year but has grown so much that they can now send at any time and quilts are also now being sent to HMAS Anzac.

I have made a quilt top (and also passed on the backing and binding) as well as three laundry bags and although it is unlikely I will get another one in this year I do have two planned for next year.

It is such a good cause and whether you agree with the politics behind the deployment of the armed forces or not it doesn't matter.  It is so very important to support our troops no matter where or how they serve.

Anyway check out the blog and see if there is anything you can be doing to join in.
