A chance to share with the world my little corner of it. The project successes (and failures) of a newbie sewer and knitter making my way in the world.
We have a fig tree and this year it's loaded, I've never eaten a fig let alone grown them so I have NO IDEA when they're ripe or what to do with them *blush*
Dee - Figs are really versatile and can be used for sweet (with honey and nuts) or savoury - delicious in a goats cheese salad. R does the most delicious fig, honey and pistachio ice cream. We have been eating them caramalised in honey for the last two nights. Our neighbours figs are ripe when they go purple but to be honest the birds get there first so we pick them a little under ripe.
