Leaving gifts
Jot was saying last night that she was going to miss C and I asked if she would like to draw her a picture. Then I struck on the idea of putting it onto fabric and using it as part of a gift. So the bag was born. Its a shame that the print shows through so much on the picture but it is still nice and of course owls on the inside (although different owls).
I hope she likes them.

Nappy Bag
So when I stumbled across this beauty online it reminded me so much of Mums red bag that I knew I had to see it for myself.
I was able to track one down at the local Baby Bunting store and as of Friday I am the proud owner of one OiOi Red Faux Lizard Carry All Nappy Bag. It comes with its own change mat, bottle cooler, wipes case and wet bag as well as multiple pockets (including one for passports).
I love it and although at the moment it is only doing duty for one child and doubling as my handbag, it has a long life ahead of it as a nappy bag. As well as continuing as my handbag/travel bag for many years to come.
In actual fact it is nothing like Mums red bag but I am so glad that everytime I look at it I remember travelling as a family and as a kid. I hope that some day my children will have as many fond memories as I do about travelling and maybe some of them will be triggered by My Red Bag.
Disclaimer: Oioi have no idea who I am I just love this bag and had to tell someone (or everyone) about it.

Creative Juices are flowing
Sorry the pictures aren't that great.
I also finished up a bag for Jots sleep sheet at childcare. Now I see it I realise I should have used a simpler pattern for the letters and a more complicated pattern for the bag. Oh well you live and learn and Jot likes it so that is all that counts.
And a close up of the applique (my machine is having some tension troubles so I decided to hand applique the letters and I am really happy with how my even(ish) my stitches came out.
So now I am off to purchase some fabric for my month of the MMQG Oh Beehave and try to figure decide what to make my SIL for Christmas as I only have 10 days left of January to finish it in.
Take care

Gifts
One of my friends became a grandmother last week. Welcome baby Grace. I really wanted to make Grace a quilt but as I have never met her mother or father I thought it might be a bit odd so instead I made something for Graces parents to use.
One of the things we ended up buying (while J was still in disposable nappies) was a nappy wallet. A small folder that had room for a set of wipes and a few nappies. It got a lot of use for the first 8 months and then got sidelined by the cloth nappies it has however resurfaced for all our travelling this year and once again has proved a lifesaver on many occasions.
So I decided to make one for Graces parents. I found just the right material in my stash and got up the courage to cut into it - my only piece of Farmers Market by Sandi Henderson - and here it is:
I have to say I really really like it and I hope it gets some use.
I have also been busy making gifts for Jots carers at childcare. Last year I didn't know any of them very well so they just got a box of cherries to chare but this year Jot has been in the same room for nine months so I know them all a bit better.
I decided to make some little zip pouches for the three assistants and a bag for the room leader but really couldn't find a material I likes (I was being very particular) then while look through my stash in a panic as I realised that the room leader would not be around next week I stumbled across a couple of Ikea tea towels which are lovely and turned them into these:
I also really wanted to get Jot involved so decided to bake some Snowballs for them as well. They are meant to look like this:
Any ours looked like this:
They are yummy though so I just dusted them with icing sugar and called the Hazelnut Crisps instead.
They went down a treat on Friday so I can now relax and get on with some holiday clothes sewing for both Jot and myself.
Have a good week

Jot is off to Childcare
Anyway I made her a bag for Childcare. Not quite as good as I had hoped but it is only the drawstring which is dodgy and I can swap that out if it really bugs me over the next few weeks. So here are pictures.
